Pakistan PTI Party Member Arrested: More than 100 workers of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been arrested from Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, in connection with the attacks on military installations in Pakistan on May 9. Police gave this information on Sunday (November 12).
Lahore Police said in a statement issued on Sunday, “We have carried out attacks on Lahore Corps Commander House and Askari Tower (reportedly owned by the son of former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa) in different parts of the city on Saturday. 105 wanted PTI workers have been arrested.
Imran Khan was arrested on May 9
According to the PTI report, Lahore Police said in the statement that action has been initiated against around 1,000 PTI workers who had escaped arrest in connection with the May 9 attacks. On May 9, Pakistan Rangers arrested PTI Chief Imran Khan from the premises of Islamabad High Court, after which violent protests started. Party workers had vandalized a dozen military establishments including Jinnah House (Lahore Corps Commander House), Mianwali Air Base and ISI Bhawan in Faisalabad. Apart from this, the protesters also attacked the Army Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi for the first time.
Imran Khan is in jail
Let us tell you that Imran Khan is currently lodged in Attock jail of Punjab province in the Tosha Khan case. In the year 2018, he was found accused of keeping valuable gifts received from abroad in Toshakhan, then buying them at cheap prices and then selling them at higher prices. Because of this he is serving a sentence of 3 years. Apart from this, he has been banned from contesting elections.
